Showing of her dedication and hardwork in Congess,  2nd District representative  Aurora “Auring” Enerio-Cerilles has authored and initiated 42 house bills in just one month after her oath which only proved that she is toiling hard for the welfare of her constituents.

 

Twenty (20) of the majority house bills  filled by  Cerilles  are still pending in the first reading which  seek to establish national high schools in   the different  barangays of her district, while one- HB 01353- is an  act establishing the Philippine Science High School Western Mindanao Campus.

 

Five of her new proposals aim to create the Philippine Rubber Authority, the Mindanao Railways Authority, the Philippine Air Force Academy (PAFA), Philippine Naval Academy (PNA) and the establishment of Philippine Drug Rehabilitation Center in Zamboanga del Sur.

 

The bills for PAFA and PNA creation are still pending with the Committee on National Defense and Security. 

 

HB 01356 was filed last July 13, seeks to convert the provincial road  from Barangay Poblacion in Dumalinao passing through San Pablo, Dinas, Dimataling, Tabina, Pitogo, Vincenzo Sagun, Margosatubig into a national  road to  be known as the Zamboanga del Sur Coastal Road.

 

She likewise filed HB 01995 and HB 01996- both proposed for the professionalization of the recruitment and selection processes in the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), amending certain provisions of RA 9263; the recruitment and selection process and the promotion system in the Philippine National Police, amending certain provisions of RA 8551, respectively. These bills were still pending with the Committee on Public Order and Safety.

 

Cerilles’ HB 01352 – is an Act providing for the Greater liberalization of the Commmercial Aviation Industry of the Philippines by Aligning existing Rules and Regulations to encourage growth and development of Air Travel and Tourism In, out and within the Philippine Archipelago.

 

HB 01348 – “An Act Institutionalizing a National Land Use Policy”. This act was also filed in the previous Congress by Sen. Rodolfo Biazon and her behalf, the former Congressman and now Gov. Antonio H. Cerilles.

 

HB 01349- “An Act Regulating Development  and Management of Small Islands in the Philippines, and HB 01351- An Act amending RA 8794, otherwise known as the Road User’s Tax Law, were also  pending in the first reading as of July 13, 2010.

 

The road user’s tax or motor vehicle user’s charge is applicable to vehicle owners of all type, whether for hire or for private use and is collected annually for the road maintenance and   transport infrastructure.

 

Cerilles’ latest resolution dated August 10, urged the Committee on Good Government and Accountability to conduct an inquiry, in aid of legislation, on the reported adverse effects of the COA Circular No. 2009-002 entitled, “Reinstituting selective pre-audit on government and projects and delivery of essential services”.

 

Presently, she is the vice chairman on the Committee of Higher and Technical Education, and a member for the majority in Accounts, Interparliamentary Relations and Diplomacy and Natural Resources committees.
