an alternative grocery store for Zambosurians...

 

Healthy foods have always been the prime concern in every household and yet, most families would always prefer to choose the fresh and chemical-free foods in their tables.  In most cases, looking for a certified chemical free foods are often hard to find.  In big cities where big malls are prevalent, most consumers/buyers often buy organically grown foods considering and even sacrifice buying them at a more higher price.  It is with this impression that the community are now more aware since most of our consumers are now health conscious buyers.

 

Here in Zamboanga del Sur particularly in the City of Pagadian, because Governor Tony H. Cerilles believes so much on a more healthy food for every household, as he is more aware that Zambosurians are now health conscious especially on the food that they eat.  Consumers who are worried that these foods are more expensive, the Governor assured the consumers that prices of these available foods will be very affordable; Gov Tony also envisions that this will encourage Zambosurian farmers to plant using the organic method of farming.  Thus the Provincial Capitol opens the Tindahang Organiko, located outside the provincial capitol complex a few meters away from the Boy Scout store along P.L. Urro Street.

 

At the Tindahang Organiko sa Kapitolyo, you can buy all grocery items, the best meat products, organically grown vegetables such as eggplants, kangkong, tomatoes which are raised at the organic vegetable garden of the Provincial Agriculture Office in Dao.

 

The Tindahang Organiko sa Kapitolyo is a project granted by the Dept. of Agriculture being implemented by the Provincial Government through the Provincial Agriculture Office which serves as the supplier of the organic products and the Provincial Micro-Development Office which serves as project implementer.

 

This was  launched last November 11 during the visit of DA Secretary Proceso Alcala who personally cut the ribbon with Governor Tony Cerilles, Congressman Victor Yu witnessed by Municipal mayors and City Mayor of Pagadian and other officials and provincial capitol employees.

 

Mr. Gerardo Chatto, head of the Provincial Micro-Development Office of the Provincial Government said that in these times of economic hardship, we should look for an alternative store that offers competitive prices for almost all we need in the family.

 

Meanwhile, Mrs. Mahleen Bersales thank the support of the Department of Agriculture through Secretary Alcala for  as partly their office helped so much in realizing this dream.  She also thanked Governor Tony Cerilles for the unrelentless support to the organic farming industry in the province, since farmers now have their ready market where to sell their organic products.

 

“This endeavor will surely boost our farming who have been into organic farming as they already have a ready market for their products, along this, we can also attract more farmers as our office have been encouraging them to go organic, with the staunch support of our very own Governor, who have been an advocate of organic farming, our consumers are also given the biggest assistance as they have a hard-time these days to look for store who sells certified organically grown foods here in Zamboanga del Sur.
