Business climate in Pagadian is healthy for the Rural Bank of Dipolog, Inc. (RBDI) to branch out here which opened November 7. Malls such as Best Emporium and Gaisano are soon to open here too by Nov. 23 and Dec 8, respectively.
RBDI had Governor Auring E. Cerilles and City Mayor Sammy S. Co to cut the ceremonial ribbon that signaled the formal opening of RBDI in Pagadian. Rev. Fr. Cardinal Pintac blessed the new edifice. RBDI is owned by Saguin family of Dipolog City whose principle - won’t branch-out unless they put up its own building, Human Resources Manager Milcah A. Capundag revealed. Capundag said since Pagadian is the new regional center in Region IX, RBDI decided to place its 5th branch here. RBDI’s main office is in Dipolog City. Incidentally, lawyer Augusto Saguin, RBDI’s President and Chairman of the Board of Directors is a relative of Governor Cerilles in her father’s side - Enerios. RBDI acquired its over 800 square meter lot from Sagun Family at the prime streets of the city – corner F.S. Pajares Avenue and Sanson Street, San Francisco District. Meanwhile, in a phone interview with Engr. Marlon Cirunay, head of the Office of Building Official here, RBDI is among the several establishments that construct their own building here although banks are not covered by the 5-year Tax Incentives (tax holiday) offered by the Co Administration. In previous interview with Mayor Co he explained that malls, subdivisions and hotels are among the type of businesses that can avail of tax holidays as come-on offering of Pagadian City that complements to its new stature as the regional center of Region IX. He said more businesses coming in means employment to his people. So far, Cirunay named Gaisano Pagadian, Best Emporium, Bay Plaza Hotel and Rosario Homes as among the few that have applied for the tax holiday.
