PAGADIAN CITY, March 2 (PIA) – Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Revenue District Officer Atty. Nasrollah B. Conding on Tuesday announced that the RDO 92 has exceeded their revenue collection of P101-M of last year as against its 2009 collection.
At a press conference held at BIR’s office, Conding said the district office was able to collect P450-M in 2010 versus the P349-M collection in 2009.
Conding said, the revenue district office 92 was given 10% increase based on the 2009 collection for 2010 goal and yet we were able to collect P450-M.
“Masyadong malaki ang pagtaas ng nakolekta namin. Imagine sa isang taon lang nakakolekta kami ng P101-M,” Conding said in Tagalog. The increase in our collection is huge. Imagine we were able to collect P101M in one year.)
“ For the first time in 10 years, this is the only time that we have surpassed our goal,” Conding proudly said.
Conding attributed the success to the taxpayers for faithfully and religiously paying their taxes, the collection agents, and the employees for their active support on the tax campaign and to the stakeholders as well.
Conding said RDO 92 strictly adhered to the provision of RA 9335 of 2005 otherwise known as Attrition Act to improve the revenue collection performance of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Bureau of Customs (BOC) through the creation of a rewards and incentives fund and of a revenue performance evaluation board.
Under the law, Conding said the district personnel are entitled to 10% of the excess which is equivalent to P3.1M. “The said amount will be automatically given to the employees who exerted great efforts in attaining their goals,” Conding added.
Conding lauded the law which gives benefits to BIR employees who exceeded their goals but penalizes those whose revenue collection falls short of the target by at least seven and a half percent (7.5%). For 2011, Conding said we will renew our enduring spirit that we’ve done in the previous years to surpass again our collection. “We will utilize our resources just to reach our goal,” Conding added. For this year, Conding said RDO 92 was not yet given a quota from central office but he is expect that 10-20% increase from last year’s collection will be imposed.
Conding expressed confidence that this year they would exceed their target with the utmost cooperation of the taxpayers and stakeholders. (NBE/GCC-PIA 9 Zambo del Sur) Last update: 16-03-2011 10:48
