Pagadian City, 28 Jan (PIA) – Newly installed Commanding General of the First Infantry ‘Tabak’ Division, Philippine Army Brig. Gen. Noel Coballes revealed before the local media this week the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) campaign to sustain peace and order in every community code name ‘Bayanihan.’
Gen. Coballes said code name ‘Bayanihan’ is a campaign strategy of the military against bad elements whose only aim is to bring atrocities in some areas where they want to sow fear and terror among civilians.
He said through this campaign, “we are coordinating with all the local government units (LGUs) in our area of concern as to all our plans and measures for its effective and efficient implementation in our effort to maintain peace and order.
The Commanding General said further that they are also ready to assist the campaign of the local executives of the Commission on Election (COMELEC) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in its all-out campaign against illegal drugs, which is one of the priority programs of Gov.
